The United States Air Force Memorial is located in Arlington, Virginia across the Potomac from Washington DC at a promontory point of land known as the Naval Annex. The site overlooks the Pentagon from the southwest. The design of the memorial is unique and is the newest major memorial in the Washington DC Area! The memorial’s highlights are three stainless steel spires which soar skyward. The highest of the spires ascends 270 feet above the 3-acre elevated promontory site. Other key elements of the Memorial include a bronze Honor Guard, inscription walls, and an open glass Chamber of Contemplation. The landscaping is meticulously designed and maintained and even offer views of the Nation’s Capitol across the Potomac River.
